Membership
Membership is open to any full-time or part-time musician or vocalist, working in pop, rock, country, classical, jazz, folk or any other area of music making in the jurisdiction of Local 92. If you live outside of the jurisdiction of local 92 (Buffalo area) use the Find a Local feature of the AFM web site to find a Local Musicians Union in your area.
Over the last several centuries, groups of workers who toiled in the same field or endeavor, have joined together in guilds or unions to promote their craft. They sought to achieve just compensation for their labor and to pass along this information to future generations in hopes of perpetuating their craft.
Unions through collective bargaining have achieved a higher standard of living for their members and raised the standards for health and safety issues.
The American Federation of Musicians is one of the largest unions in the country and includes Canada. We invite you to join our ranks and partake of all the privileges that come with membership.
